Strengthen Your Body of Work
Whenever I post videos about how I’d build a brand strategy for a celebrity or public figure, I get messages from people asking if I can help them do the same thing.
Sometimes the answer is yes. But often, my first question is:
“What exactly are we trying to make more visible?”
A lot of people are focused on audience growth, visibility, engagement, and algorithms before they’ve identified the thing they’re actually contributing.
The reason your favorite public figures have recognizable brands isn’t just because they’re exceptionally good at self-promotion.
It’s because they have a clear body of work.
They have
+ ideas they’re known for
+ frameworks they created
+ art they’ve produced
+ services they deliver
+ perspectives they consistently share
+ problems they consistently solve
The brand is the container for the work.
Before you worry about attracting more attention, make sure you’ve built something worth directing that attention toward.
Contribution before visibility.
What are you becoming known for?
